UK Gets Whipped by Florida 41-7, Tebow Taken To hospital

Before fans could blink, cry, or scream UK was staring at a 31-0 deficit. Tebow was running over the defense like a freight train running over matchbox cars. It seemed each offensive play either resulted in a loss or a penalty for a loss, likewise each defensive play resulted in a first down or a penalty. Florida gained 495 total yards, with 362 yards coming on the ground compared to only 179 total yards for the Cats. Kentucky got whipped on offense, defense, and special teams by the #1 team in the country. Mike Hartline looked particulary bad going just 13-28 for 93 yards with two interceptions, but the running game was just as ineffective gaining only 86 yards and averaging just 2.7 yards per carry.

Despite the convincing victory by Florida, Gator fans will not sleep easily tonight after Tim Tebow had to be helped off the field in the third quarter after a sack by UK defensive end Taylor Wyndham. The injury appeared to be very serious with Tebow lying motionless on the field for two to three minutes before being helped off. On the sidelines, Tebow never looked quite right as he stared at the field with a dazed look on his face. Several minutes later Tebow was carted off the field while throwing up in a plastic bag before eventually being taken by ambulance to the hospital.

It is clear that Kentucky was overmatched against Florida and despite the ugly loss it is important that the Cats don't let this carry over to the remainder of the season. UK still has a talented team and will hopefully recover from this loss and continue the quest for a fourth straight bowl game. Unfortunately, the task isn't much easier for the Cats next week when they take on the #3 undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide at Commonwealth Stadium.
